After a long year without dancing, Circle 8 is starting into a new season, beginning with lessons starting July 24 (download a flyer). The first dance of the season is September 12 with Tammy Gough calling squares and David Myers cueing rounds. Hope to see everyone back into a square!

Circle 8 Square and Round dance has temporarily ceased all dance activities to promote social distancing and reduce the chances for Covid-19 pandemic spread. We are disappointed as much as many are, but feel it is the right choice at this time. Please continue to do your part in reducing the spread possibilities and we will be back to dancing sooner than later.

Sunday, September 13, Circle 8 is starting up the new dance season after a long separation among the Covid-19 concerns. Tammy Gough and Kevin Denning will be sharing their Square Dance calling and Round Dance cueing with us. Dancing starts with rounds at 6:30pm with squares starting at 7:00 pm.

We are being cautious though. We have hand sanitizer and temperature checks to support. While we encourage dancers to enjoy the evening with us, we do discourage those that are not feeling well, or are just not comfortable in the current environment. We understand.

Hello Everyone – it has been awhile since we have last shared any updates. The Covid-19 season has altered everyone’s plans in many ways. Circle 8 is no exception.

At this time – we are tentatively planning our back to the season dance on September 13, 2020 – subject to any further updates. Tammy Gough will be calling with Kevin Denning leading the rounds. We will finish up our Card them from 2019, so be sure to bring your best hand for fun and prizes.

Circle 8 invites all square and round dancers to the KSDA January dance in Salina, KS. All KSDA members should attend the meeting starting at 1:00pm . The dance is open to all square and round dancers, beginning at 3:00 pm.

Jim Howard and Jonathan Marshall from Oklahoma City, OK will entertain everyone to some great music and dances. Kevin Denning from Wichita, KS will lead everyone through an afternoon of round dances.

Meeting and Dance are held at the 4-H building in Salina, at Kenwood Park.

Dance cost: $7.00 for KSDA members – $8.00 for non-KSDA members.

Circle 8 is pleased to welcome Mike Turner back to share his talents for both Square Dance calling and Round Dance Cueing. Mike has a nice selection of Round dances for our community, while leading us through some great square dance choreography and great singing calls.

Rounds starts at 6:30pm at the Park City Senior center, with Square Dancing immediately following at 7:00pm.

Be sure to join Circle 8 as we attend the 2019 Wichita Fall Festival on Oct 25-26 in Wichita, KS. Featured Caller is Jim Howard from Oklahoma and Bob and Kay Kurczewski from Texas.

The festival is held at the Westside Church of God, 1900 West McCormick, Wichita, KS.
